Messes in life do hold us back for sure, as does perfection JEMi. I work with a perfectionist who keeps the messiest office because she's so busy making sure that everything is just perfect by double checking that her work has become a huge pile of clutter. She can't throw anything away because she has to make sure that's its okay to do so, so it just sits there.

Some people just aren't organized and it really is a reflection of their life, IMHO.

I couldn't agree more with your view. I often feel the same way. Actually I sometimes discuss this topic with my friends, so it's nice to see other people also talking openly about it.

I love point #3. There's always someone who knows more than us. We should never get to a point where we are satisfied with what we know, because we can never learn too much.

You did it AGAIN, smiling JEMi,

As someone older and wiser (??) than Vered, I totally agree, never stop learning. Be brave and push yourself to limits you never thought were possible. That also ties into your "be respectful of people at all levels ( and ages). Over the years I have learned SO much from those who came before me. There was wisdom in their years.

Giving back with a happy heart is another great "plus" in life. If we can learn it's better to give than to receive, we also learn the rewards of giving far outweigh what we may have sacrificed.

This, and your previous post, sound like the makings for a fantastic ebook. The information is so valuable it should be made available for the masses and not just the readers of your blog.

JEMi, you rock!

"It’s ok to be new and start from the top again and again." That is a big part of being successful. A lot of us young folks are already afraid to start over and lose what little ground we've gained, but it's never too late.

Your positive message here rocks. I think your final point and paragraphs are the most powerful. You reap what you sow--eventually. That's one thing that's really cool about any kind of social media; it teaches you that lesson in a very tangible way. The true benefits come when, like you suggest, you apply that philosophy to all areas of life.

Part 2 was worth waiting for!

"Never ever get to a point when you’re ’such a genius’ that you make no room for progress. You can always afford to learn something."

YES, YES, YES!

I couldn't agree more and especially as someone who is older and wiser (??).... it's one of the best ways to stay young (which remonds me of another great post you wrote!).

Points #1 and two are so VERY TRUE! Cleaning my work area really does help my thinking. Surrounding with other like minds helps a great great deal. It keeps the positive energy flowing. Thanks JEMi.

Loads of positive messages here, JEMi.

I always find that having a trusted group of people around can really make the difference in encouraging a successful attitude. Not only do they give us the confidence to try something as we can rely on their support, but they also challenge us when we DON'T try.

It is good to be held to account when we feel like settling for second best.

I totally agree with your tip about appreciating those around you. At work, I made a point of knowing the first name of everyone I had dealings with.

I made time to chat with all level of colleague- be they manager, receptionist, or mailroom assistant. On many occasions, I was able to call on their help simply because I had treated them with respect.

It's easy to ignore the "humble" mailroom assistant as they do their rounds- after all, everyone else does. However, a few words everyday shows respect and can create a positive impression.

There's a saying that we should be nice to people on our way up, as we might just need their help on the way back down. Appreciating others costs very little, but can make a huge difference- for both parties.
